Dubliner Gary Dunne’s first release evidences an understated talent that marries considered lyrics with bare-naked guitar, bass, drums and a fine ear for catchy melody. ‘Madness’ is a frustrated tale of apology; ‘Constant Motion’ shows off his soft Dublin accent to good effect in a faintly Noel Gallagher-esque piece; ‘737 (Let It In)’ strips it all back with a guitar and vocal tale of lost love that avoids cliche while ‘Grandstand’ is reminiscent of Joe Jackson’s ‘Is She Really Going Out With Him’. Impressive. Well Dunne.
