These Welsh madmen are weird, eccentric, quietly confident and effortlessly cool, and Golden Retriever is too. Recorded at home, the production is rich and lush, and the overall vibe is catchy foot-tapping singing-along material, though every now and then you’ll be amazed at the lyrics that you’re singing. SFA might be a band that will pass you by with just echoes of their big hits resonating somewhere in the back of your mind, but, if you want to delve deeper into their slightly strange universe, I think it’ll be a very interesting visit.
