Glee The Music and Lady Gaga at number one this week in Ireland
The charts also make good reading for Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons and Heathers.
Boyzone’s Brother has been replaced at the top of the Irish album chart by Glee The Music: Vol 2, with Vol 1 at number 5.
It’s also a good week for Lady GaGa’s The Fame/The Fame Monster (up 4 to 3); Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More (up 5 to 4); and Justin Bieber’s My World (up 11 to 17).
The week’s highest new entry at 13 is I Speak Because I Can by Laura Marling who’s interviewed in the current issue of Hot Press. The only other top 20 debutante at 17 is Goldfrapp’s Head First.
Despite his strong showing on the indie chart, Paul Brady’s Hooba Dooba only manages to rise four places to number 39.
“It's a great record,” says Hot Press editor Niall Stokes, “with a load of tracks that fit different radio formats. The question now is: will it get the support from radio that it deserves?”
Boyzone have also been replaced at the top of the singles chart by Lady Gaga feat. Beyoncé’s ‘Telephone’.
Heathers’ ‘Remember When’ registers an impressive fourteen place leap to number 21 while Florence & The Machine are the week’s highest new entry at 27 with ‘Cosmic Love’.
