George Michael's funeral delayed
The funeral will be delayed until toxicology reports determine whether drug use had a hand in the singer's death.
The funeral of George Michael, the iconic pop star who passed away this Christmas, will be put on hold until a toxicology report can determine whether drug ingestion was a factor in his death. It has been determined that heart failure was the cause of death, but the cause of heart failure is still unknown. Senior coroner for Oxfordshire, Darren Salter, has not opened an inquest into Michael's death. The police have stated that they are waiting for the full toxicology report. The singer's body cannot be returned to his family until the results of the toxicology report and all other tests are in and a full inquest has been processed.
Back in December following the singer's death, Thames Valley Police said that “further tests will now be carried out” and that “the results of these tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks."
