The band's fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, was released last Friday.
Fontaines D.C. have debuted at No. 1 on the Irish Albums Chart following the release of their fifth album, Dopamine Chamber, last Friday.
The band also have several songs in the Top 10 of the Irish Singles Chart. 'Marianne' is currently in the No. 2 spot on the chart, meanwhile 'Japan' is a new entry at No. 5. The band's collaboration with singer Rosalía, 'Where is Gone', is at No. 6 after debuting at No. 14 last week.
The group's third album, 2022's Skinty Fia, also reached No. 1 on the Irish Albums Chart. 2024's Romance and their 2020 record A Hero's Death both placed at No. 2, while their debut, Dogrel, reached No. 4 back in 2019.
They will appear on a special edition of Later... With Jools Holland. The band played an intimate gig at Alexandra Palace in London two weeks ago, where they played Dopamine Chamber in full.
The concert was recorded for a one-off version of the long-running entertainment show. The set will air on BBC Two on Sunday, November 15. It is also now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
Individual songs from the show are now available to watch for global fans on BBC's YouTube channel.
Fontaines D.C. are set to headline Slane Castle, Co. Meath in June 2027. They will be the third Irish act, along with Thin Lizzy and U2, to headline the venue. The band were originally supposed to perform one show, however a second was added due to demand.
They will be joined by special guests Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey, and Madra Salach, with more to be announced.
They have announced a run of shows in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand in January 2027. They will also be embarking on a North American tour, beginning in April 2027. Dates include Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Atlanta.
