Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian have released one of 2001’s most enduring albums in the shape of The Optimist LP, which has seen the duo equally welcomed and derided as a Simon and Garfunkel for the new millennium.

Whether they’ll have as big an influence on popular culture as Paul and Art remains to be seen, but in the meantime we have wonderfully fluid acoustic balladry like ‘Emergency 72’ to be going along with and that’ll do nicely for now, thanks very much.
