Electric Picnic Archives: East India Youth
The countdown to the weekend continues with a look back at our chat with the electronic whizz
Having arguably stolen the show at Forbidden Fruit this summer, we're positively buzzing at the prospect of reacquainting ourselves with the artist formerly known as William Doyle, the sensational East India Youth.
His Culture Of Volume LP, released earlier this year, is among the better records of the past 12 months, but that came as little surprise to anyone familiar with the Londoner's work; critical darling and favourite of his own hero, Brian Eno, he's a popular boy.
We'll certainly be ready for a crowd when he pops by the Hot Press Chatroom for a natter on Sunday; in the meantime, we turn the clocks back 18 months.
Our man Craig Fitzpatrick gave the Londoner a thorough grilling: check it out right here.
