Ed Sheeran tells all about ÷ in BBC interview

Ed Sheeran gave a ÷ themed interview with BBC before the launch of his new album (tonight at midnight!), answering questions about his decision to live a phone-free life and the worst injuries he's had before gigs. "I smashed a bottle of beer into my hand and got 12 stitches before a gig," he confesses. "Then I played the gig and split them open again while playing. It almost hit a tendon and meant I wouldn't be able to use this hand to play guitar. I'm actually getting a bit twitchy thinking about it."
According to Sheeran, the titular girl from his upcoming song "Galway Girl," could have hailed from anywhere in Ireland at some point, as he tried to change the lyric to stop the song from being confused with the Steve Earle track of the same name. I did Wexford Girl and Clonakilty Girl and Cork Girl... none of them worked," he explains. "But the whole point of folk songs is taking inspiration from the past and making something new - so people will just have to deal with it."
