These are interesting times for Irish singer songwriters. The competition is fierce but the potential rewards if they get it right are many. Richard Martin enters the fray in impressive form, with ‘Don’t Take Your Eyes’ at least making more than a passing impression with its sturdy band backing. He’ll need one of those golden tunes to break through into the world of Casey, Rice et all yet for now this is a steady start.
