Domhnall Gleeson Tipped For Oscar Nomination
The Irishman's stock continues to rise
You know things are going well for you when the movie hasn't begone filming, yet you're already been hot listed as a potential Oscar nominee.
Domhnall Gleeson is being tipped for Best Male Actor for the 2017 Oscars, for his upcoming role in Goodby Christopher Robin, the biopic of Winnie the Pooh creator AA Milne. Vanity fair commented that it's "the kind of uplifting, nostalgia-heavy project that plucks at the heartstrings of Academy voters."
The film will be directed by Simon Curtis and will look into the inspiration Milne took from his personal life into creating the beloved bear, namely the inspiration he took from his son Robin. Robin's toys and his interaction with them sparked a reaction in Milne that developed into the adventures of Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.
The Dubliner has had a string of hit films including Academy Award winners The Revenant and Ex-Machina and the Oscar nominated Brooklyn and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Gleeson will reprise his role as the villianous General Hux in Star Wars: Episode VII, he will star alongside Tom Cruise in drug-trafficking drama Mena and as National Lampoon magazine founder in the Netflix comedy A Futile and Stupid Gesture.
