Death Cab for Cutie announce additional Dublin date due to demand
Their EU tour will kick off in Dublin's 3Olympia, with two shows on September 16 and 17.
Death Cab for Cutie have announced an additional Dublin date due to demand, set to take place in the 3Olympia on September 17.
Their I Built You A Tower tour will kick off in the 3Olympia on September 16, followed by the newly added date.
The announcement follows the news about their eleventh studio album I Built You A Tower, due out June 5 via independent record label ANTI-. It is the first album from the American alternative rock band in four years, following 2022's Asphalt Meadows.
"I Built You A Tower is an album about loss and the ways by which we attempt, ultimately unsuccessfully, to compartmentalise grief," said the band on Instagram.
"We compartmentalise because we need to keep ourselves together to do our jobs, raise our families, etc. But the structures we build within ourselves to hold our grief at bay are only so strong."
Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997, Death Cab for Cutie made their worldwide breakthrough with their 2003 album Transatlanticism. They're among several bands commonly associated with the emo wave of the early 2000s.
