Dea Matrona announe debut album For Your Sins
The pair have also revealed a headline tour across the U.K & Ireland in support of the LP, with shows lined up for Cork, Dublin, Galway, and their native Belfast. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am.
Belfast rock duo Dea Matrona have announced their debut album For Your Sins, out May 3, 2024. Accompanying the news is the project’s lead single ‘Stuck on You’.
“After taking a break from touring, we both locked ourselves away for a while and I think this song sums up how crazy it drove us,” said the band of the song.
“It was initially written as an instrumental and it was the most challenging track on the record to produce. It will be very exciting to bring these songs on the road with us in May & see how people react in real life”.
Speaking on the album as a whole, the band added the following :“It’s a record about trying to find ourselves & failing over & over again until we realised that part of the fun of being in Dea Matrona is that we’ll never really know who we are or what we want to say”.
Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe cut their teeth busking in Belfast and have achieved viral success with their renowned covers of classics like Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Homeward Bound’ – accumulating 250,000 followers and racking up over 8 million views on YouTube.
The Hot Press Hot For 2021 alumni have been on our radar for a number of years – flaunting their talents during an exclusive showcase at the Aloft Hotel in July 2022. They also offered up a very special rendition of Van Morrison’s ‘Gloria’ during our lockdown Rave On Van Morrison series in 2020.
