Huartan announce Free State Tour 2026

Huartan have announced gigs in Limerick, Cork, Louth, Galway, Carlow and Dublin as part of their Free State tour in October.

The West Belfast collective are set to tour following their debut self-titled album in 2025, with their most recent single 'Dulaman (Luxury Dessert Fetish Remix)' released in June.

The Irish language act, composed of Catriona Ní Ghribín, Múlú, and Stiofán Ó Luachrán, have a distinctive look with ram skull masks and a focus on síogaí (fairies) and the natural world. Their name is rooted in history, "with Huartan being an ancient Ogham word meaning the tool associated with the hawthorn tree."

Huartan was the first ever Irish-language act, alongside KNEECAP, to perform at AVA Belfast this year.

"It shows that An Ghaeilge and Irish culture are rising and that more and more people are looking inwards for their cultural cues to a language, history and culture that are rich, inclusive and deeply rooted in this land and its people." they said to Hot Press regarding the festival, back in May. 

Their tradtronic sound was also heard at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast last week, August 7.

They won Hot Press' Amhrán na Laoch Irish language song competition in 2024, with their song 'Bean Udaí Thall', also winning NI Music Prize Live Act of the year. More recently, they were crowned winners of the 2025 BBC Introducing NI Artist of the Year.
