DCU honours Uaneen
The Dublin college is to name its extracurricular awards scheme in memory of Uaneen Fitzsimons
Dublin City Universty has decided to name its extracurricular awards scheme in memory of Uaneen Fitzsimons.
Says a spokesperson: "The award will be presented to students who've significantly contributed to the social and non-academic aspect of university life. A number of students from the Gold Medal category will then be nominated for the prestigious Chancellor's Medal which is awarded annually and presented at graduation."
A DCU Communications graduate, Uaneen tragically died in November 2000.
