Dave Geraghty embarks on new project + Bell X1 to play Westport
Not to be outdone by Bell X1 bandmate Paul Noonan’s Printer Clips project, Dave Geraghty has a new album coming out under the Join Me In The Pines banner.
“I wanted to change the name under which I release my solo work, to evoke a world where the music lives, instead of it being anchored to reality by a person’s name,” Dave explains. “‘Join Me In The Pines’ came about from the imagery that in part inspired the songs and in part was evoked by the developing mood of the album. Leixlip, the place where I’m from, was at the time a real green belt. Until two multinational computer factories came to town and sped up the urban sprawl that was inevitably going to pop that little town’s cherry. I think the place that you grew up and have certain experiences, it leaves an indelible mark.”
Geraghty heads out on Irish tour from April 3 – 12, with fans determining at [link]www.gigstarter.com/tour/join-me-in-the-pines[/link] how it should be routed.
He’ll be re-convening with Bell X1 for a summer festival schedule that includes a trip to IMMA on May 31 for the first day of Forbidden Fruit and a Westport Festival show on June 29.
