Damon Albarn receives OBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List

A doff of the Hot Press headphones to Damon Albarn who’s probably pissed Noel Gallagher off something rotten by bagging himself an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
There are also notable OBEs for Idris Elba, Ronnie O’Sullivan and James Nesbitt who returns to screens soon in The Secret.
"I've been very blessed with my work and very blessed to come from Northern Ireland and for those two things to be on the citation was really rather gratifying,” says Nesbitt who’s a patron of the Wave Trauma Centre, which helps people effected by The Troubles.
He’ll be joined at the palace by fellow Ulstermen Tony McCoy, the champion jockey who’s received a knighthood and boxer Carl Frampton who gets an MBE. Also getting MBE-ed up is Clifford Price, AKA dance don Goldie.
