Daft Punk tour date hoax
The French duo are sadly not on their way to the Dublin O2
EMI have rubbished internet reports that Daft Punk are to embark on a comprehensive world tour next year, which supposedly includes a Dublin O2 stop-off in August.
“There are no tour dates currently planned,” reads an official statement. “The recent rumours of a Daft Punk tour are false. We would like to ensure that no fans are taken advantage of by fictitious rumours of upcoming shows.”
Having originally been fed to an Australian website by “a source close to the band”, the false tour dates were picked up on by media outlets worldwide prompting something of a frenzy among Daft Punk fans who, alas, are going to have to wait a bit longer to see their heroes live.
