Culture Ireland grant list revealed
Full details of who gets what...
Culture Ireland has published a list of the individuals and organisations who are to benefit from their summer round of grants.
Familiar names include authors Kevin Barry and Anne Enright who are both getting €750 to give book readings in Montreal; Crash Ensemble – €50,000 for a four-date US tour; Barry Douglas & Camerata – €50,000 for eight-date South American tour; Irish artists including Dé Dannan and the Danny O’Mahony Trio – €5,000 to perform in Finland; 3epkano – €3,000 to perform newly composed score in Brooklyn; Lecs Luther & The Minutes – €1,000 to play France’s Europavox Festival; and The Abbey Theatre – €60,000 to tour The Plough And The Stars in the UK and Northern Ireland.
The full list can be perused at [link]cultureireland.ie/applications/index.php?r=reports/outcomeGrant&year=2012&program=2&utm_source=Culture+Ireland+Newsletter&utm_campaign=c093886374-NL_Spring%2FSummer+Awards_11.05.2012&utm_medium=email[/link]
It’s noticeable that once again there’s precious little in the way of rock acts that are receiving funding, Culture Ireland’s definition of “music” veering towards Irish traditional, the classical and the avant garde.
The deadline for the next round of applications is August 15.
