It’s been eight years since the last New Order release proper, despite vocalist Bernard Sumner’s Electronic project and bassist Peter Hook’s Monaco outing. The good news is that Sumner’s vocal is still laconic but impassioned, supported here by some sweet ‘n’ low female backing vocal. Hooky’s bass still hovers somewhere just below his knees and above our expectations and the buzz-saw guitar completes the set. ‘Crystal’ is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album Get Ready. Get ready for more.
