Cooler Clinics January: Mental Health Resources for Musicians event to take place as part of First Fortnight Festival
The event is in partnership with The Improved Music Company and Minding Creative Minds.
Taking place on January 18 at The Complex, Improvised Music Company will host Cooler Clinics - a free CPD event that offers 1:1 consultations. In collaboration with the mental health charity First Fortnight, these sessions are an opportunity for jazz and improvising musicians to soundboard, discuss, strategise, and get guidance and feedback from the IMC team.
While these events take place monthly, this month’s is in collaboration with First Fortnight and Minding Creative Minds, in order to focus on mental health resources for musicians with outlines of resources available, practical paths and supports, as well as space for discussion around the challenges of working in the industry.
The clinic will feature a well known figure in the Irish music industry, Ann Marie Shields, a Director of Minding Creative Minds.
Ann has worked in the music industry in London, New York and across Ireland, as an artist manager, tour manager, founder of a label and more. She is currently Head of Careers, Events and Industry at BIMM, where she runs AMS records.
Before the talk, there will be a limited number of 1:1 consultation slots to discuss mental health resources and other career concerns with a member of the IMC team. Attendance is free, but registration is necessary.
For 1:1 consultations, booking is recommended, which can be done here.
