Bulmers Galway Comedy Festival just around the corner
Prepare to have your funny bone tickled this October bank holiday weekend
Regarded by many as the cultural capital of Ireland, Galway is set to become comedy central for five days of the October bank holiday.
This year’s line-up features four Edinburgh Award winners - namely Rich Hall (2000), Phil Nichol (2006), Brendon Burns (2007) & our very own David O'Doherty (2008).
There'll also be a host of top Irish and international stand-up comedians, improv and sketch shows, as well as the world theatre premiere of Conor Montague’s Who Needs Enemies.
Over 40 comedians will appear - including Edinburgh favourite Jim Jefferies and Phill Jupitus, plus homegrown talent including Jason Byrne, Andrew Maxwell, Rich Hall, Maeve Higgins, Colin Murphy, The Hardy Bucks, Rubberbandits, Hector, Dead Cat Bounce, Jimeoin, Pappy’s Fun Club, Apres Match, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Late Night Gimp Fight and many more.
In addition to this cracking line-up, there's a new addition to Festival 2010 - the Official Festival Club will open each night at The Veranda Lounge of the Radisson Blu Hotel. Featuring celebrity guest DJ appearances, the club promises to be the place to be to chill out and dance the night away after enjoying your favourite comedy shows.
