Team Hot Press is saddened to hear that Bernie Nolan has died after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 52.
“Bernie passed away peacefully this morning with all of her family around her,” says her publicist. “The entire family are devastated to have lost beloved Bernie, a wonderful wife, adoring mother and loving sister; she is irreplaceable.”
As a member of The Nolan Sisters, Bernie was a chart regular during the ‘70s with the likes of ‘I’m In The Mood For Dancing’, ‘Don’t Make Waves’ and ‘Gotta Pull Myself Together’. They were especially big for a while in Japan where they toured extensively.
Lemmy was a huge fan – on several levels! – and guested with them on The Young And Moody Band’s hard rocking ‘Don’t Do That To Me’.
Originally from Dublin, the Nolan family moved to Blackpool in the 1960s.
