Editors announce new album Surface, Echo & Sound and share single 'The Rush'
The album is set to release on October 30.
Editors have announced details of their 8th studio album, Surface, Echo & Sound, which is set to release on October 30.
The band have also shared the album's latest single, 'The Rush,' alongside an official video directed by Henry Ehara and filmed in Tokyo.
Check it out below:
‘The Rush’ is described by the bands frontman Tom Smith as an imagined bar scene of two people talking about life, drinking, and thinking about all the ups and downs.
“It is that idea of finding comfort in people close to me, friends and loved ones and family, which is a theme that comes up all the time. It’s a theme that is in everything to a degree," Smith said.
Their new album will consist of 11 tracks, along with their single 'Call It In' which was released in April.
Starting in January, the English rock band will stop at a total of 29 venues across the UK and EU, along with previously announced Dublin and Belfast shows, set to take place at Vicar Street on February 28, 2027 and Ulster Hall on March 1, 2027.
Editors, also known in their early years as Pilot, The Pride, and Snowfield, formed in 2002 while at university in Stafford.
Consisting of Smith, Russell Leetch, Ed Lay, Justin Lockey, and Elliott Williams, the band have released seven studio albums to date, all of which reached the UK Top 10.
Their debut album, The Back Room, received a Mercury Prize nomination, while both An End Has A Start and In This Light And On This Evening reached No. 1 in the UK album charts.
You can pre-order the album here, and tickets for Editors' Dublin and Belfast show can be purchased here.
