Sprints announce new album All That Is Over
The band also announced headline shows in Dublin and Belfast
Dublin-based punk band Sprints have announced their second album, All That Is Over, set for release on September 26. The record will be released globally via City Slang and through Sub Pop in North America.
Along with the news, the band also released the upcoming album's lead single 'Descartes', accompanied by an official video directed by Niamh Bryson. The track draws inspiration from Rachel Cusk’s novel Outline and reinterprets the famous philosophical phrase "I think therefore I am" into a more expressive statement: "I speak so therefore I understand."
The announcement follows their debut album Letter To Self, which earned a nomination for the Irish Choice Music Prize.
All That Is Over builds on that momentum, delivering what the band describes as a more dynamic and emotionally complex collection of songs. Lead singer Karla Chubb said the writing process was influenced by personal upheaval and global events, noting the record was written during a time of major change in both her personal life and the wider world.
Sprints have also announced UK and EU tour dates in support of the new record, including support slots with Fontaines D.C. and headline shows at Belfast’s Empire on November 2 and Dublin’s Vicar Street on November 20.
