Beat City
Confusion reigns regarding the Raveonettes. Are they this year’s Hives (lippy Scandinavians) or this year’s White Stripes (punky boy girl duo)? The tinny garage rock of Beat City places them somewhere inbetween, a ferocious surf punk number with hints of the Cramps and the Mary Chain that doesn’t quite justify some of the slavering column inches but is still pretty cool.
