Alphastates give us some Good Stuff
Alphastates announce the release date of their new EP along with a new tour
Alphastates, one of Ireland’s freshest electro-pop bands, are ready to release their new EP entitled Good Stuff. Judging by their past singles, the name sounds a bit modest. Their combination of great lyrics, music and vocals are deadly. Alphastates’ Catherine Dowling has smooth vocals that sound like a sweet singing whisper, but she can also pull off deeper, earthier tones, and everything in between.
Alphastates, who you may be more familiar with as Babelfish, are no stranger to Irish radio; their singles, ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Addicted’, off their last two EPs were in high demand for airplay among audiences. (Their name change was necessary on the discovery of a well-established Scandinavian band of the same name.)
Fans of the band will be pleased to hear that prior to the release will be a nationwide tour, scheduled to start on November 1 at the Omagh Arts Festival (originally there was a show on October 30 in Dundalk, which had to be cancelled). Alphastates’ first full-length album, Made From Sand, will be released on February 6 of next year. The album will have 10 tracks, including ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Addicted’.
Dates for the national tour are as follows:
Friday 1 November at Omagh Arts Festival
Tuesday 4 November at Auntie Annies, Belfast
Thursday 6 November at UCD bar, Dublin
Thursday 20 November atThe Forum, Waterford
Friday 21 November at The High Stool, Limerick
Saturday 22 November Tower Records, Dublin
Thursday 27 November at The Lobby, Cork
Friday 28 November at the Zoo in Kilkenny
Saturday 29 November at The Sugar Club, Dublin with The Voyeurs
