Afghan Whigs Guitarist Has Passed Away

The musician was diagnosed with inoperable colon cancer back in October 2016. "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend, brother and inspiration," the band wrote on Facebook last night. "Dave Rosser passed away peacefully last evening surrounded by love. Thank you to all who kept him in their hearts. He is forever in ours."
Dave Rosser joined the band when they reformed in 2014 to record 'Do to the Beast', which was their first album in 16 years. Before that, he played with frontman Greg Dulli's side projects The Gutter Twins and the Twilight Singers. Rosser also worked with Mark Lanegan, Marc Broussard, Ani DiFranco, Joseph Arthur and Tim Heidecker.
Jeff Klein of indie-rock band My Jerusalem has paid a moving tribute to the late guitarist. He wrote on Facebook last night: "There are no words to express how much I love you David Rosser.
"Having you as a friend is and will be one of the finest accomplishments of my entire life. You are truly a rare treasure. I will carry you with me everywhere I go."
