Academy Award winner Jean Dujardin gets gritty in The Connection
The French crime drama details efforts to dismantle one of the greatest drug smuggling operations in history
The Connection, a French film from director Cédric Jimenez, looks set to deliver more grit and thrills than we've seen in a movie of its type in quite some time.
Featuring Jean Dujardin, who won an Academy Award for his role in The Artist, alongside Gilles Lellouche, the film is based on true events and offers a look at the French side of the 70s narcotics trade operation that was also depicted in The French Connection. Shot on 35mm film and featuring what looks like a tremendous dose of old-school cool, it's safe to say we're excited for this one.
The film screened at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival on March 22, and though we don't have a wider release date yet, fingers crossed that we can expect one soon. See a pair of previews below!
