More comeback kids and surprisingly the most impressive. Given their penchance for rock ‘n’ roll excess, perhaps the last thing we would have expected from the Basildon boys was a low key slice of electronica but ‘Dream On’ is just that, a gentle throbbing keyboard underpinning an acoustic guitar and Dave Gahan’s gothic Elvis vocal. The only thing they’ve done in years but also the best.
