The East Villagers slip almost unnoticed into the Autumn release schedule without half the hoopla you’d expect.
The East Villagers slip almost unnoticed into the Autumn release schedule without half the hoopla you’d expect. It’s a curious comeback single, as ‘12.51’ only weighs in at a 2.26 duration, acting as the ultimate ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ teaser for next month’s second album Room On Fire. The guitar sound is much warmer than the trademark garage tinniess of Is This It, as Julian belts out an instantly hummable vocal melody. While admittedly not a massive departure for these dudes, the good news is that it’s simply brilliant. Welcome back fellas.
