WATCH: Kid Cudi says he’s “not done yet” in trailer for new documentary about his life
A Man Named Scott will arrive on Amazon Prime Video on November 5th.
The trailer for a new documentary about influential rapper and producer Kid Cudi has dropped ahead of the film's release.
A Man Named Scott is slated to drop on November 5th via Amazon Prime Video. The trailer captures Kid Cudi — whose real name is Scott Mescudi — in the studio and performing live. The film “explores Cudi’s journey over a decade of creative choices, struggles and breakthroughs, making music that continues to move and empower his millions of fans around the world.”
“Creating something new and helping people, it’s always been an escape for me,” says the 37-year old in the trailer.
“And it’s freeing. Everything I make has to help people in some way. How can I make something that calls out to the broken and the lost? I needed to feel something with the music. How can I push it? How can I give people something that they haven’t heard before?”
“I sacrifice the privacy of my life and put my story out there to help others. That’s always been my mission. I’m not done yet,” he adds.
The film was directed by Rob Alexander and includes appearances from Kanye West, Timothée Chalamet, Shia LaBeouf, Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, Pharrell Williams and Lil Yachty.
Cudi recently teased a collaboration with Jay-Z in the trailer for The Harder They Fall — which was co-produced by Jay-Z. The Western dropped in select theaters on October 22nd and is set to arrive on Netflix on November 3rd.
The rapper shared his latest album, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen, in 2020. The Chosen was the third installment in the Man On The Moon series and followed his 2018 collaboration with Kanye West, Kids See Ghosts.
