The teaser trailer for Paul McCartney: Man on the Run has been released.
The film will arrive to cinemas on February 18, 2026.
The documentary from Oscar-winning director Morgan Nelville, covers the life and career of Paul McCartney following the break-up of the Beatles in 1970. Nelville is known for his critically acclaimed film Won't You Be My Neighbor?, the Fred Rogers documentary released in 2018.
The film is set to focus on McCartney's struggle at finding an identity outside of the Beatles, as well as the inception of his band Wings.
The band had strong Irish connections, with founding guitarist Henry McCullough being from Derry, and their debut single 'Give Ireland Back to the Irish' being released in response to the Bloody Sunday Massacre of 1972.
Additionally, the documentary will cover how McCartney's solo work was harshly reviewed by critics, specifically his debut solo album McCartney, released in 1970.
Nelville originally began conducting interviews for the film four years ago, with sit-downs from the singer's family and members of Wings.
The film does not feature face to camera footage of today's 83-year-old McCartney, only audio recordings. The director said his reason for doing this was so that viewers could feel as though the events in the documentary were taking place in the present moment.
Paul McCartney: Man on the Run premiered at Telluride Film Festival in August, after being acquired by Amazon. The film will be released for streaming on Amazon Prime on February 27, 2026.
