Robe worn by 'The Dude' in The Big Lebowski up for auction in L.A next month
The Dude’s robe and cotton t-shirt are expected to fetch an estimated $30,000 to $50,000.
The robe worn by Jeff Bridges in the cult Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski is set to go up for auction next month.
The iconic piece of clothing was worn by Bridges in his role as Jeff ‘The Dude’ Lebowski in the 1998 comedy and will be up for grabs at Julien’s Auctions In Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, on 16 December – in honour of the film’s 25th anniversary.
The iconic movie featured a host of famous names, including John Goodman, Steve Buscemi and Julianne Moore, who followed The Dude on his task of delivering ransom money on behalf of a millionaire - also happened to be named Jeffrey Lebowski.
The Dude’s robe and cotton t-shirt are expected to fetch an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 next month, with bids starting from $7,000.
Other items from the feature will also go up for auction, including The Dude’s sunglasses, a signed and illustrated bowling pin as well as the movie’s original storyboards.
The Auction is part of a larger event held alongside Turner Classic movies. The TCM Present: Hollywood Legends sale will also include memorabilia like Captain America’s shield from The Avengers, Draco Malfoy’s broomstick from Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, as well as an original Stormtrooper Helmet from Star Wars: A New Hope.
The auction will runs from December 14-17, with a percentage of proceeds being donated to No Kid Hungry, a campaign dedicated to ending child hunger in the United States.
