Paul Mescal has been featured on Time Magazine’s ‘100 Next list of influential people’.
The list, which was announced yesterday, shines a light on 100 rising figures who are said to be shaping the future of entertainment, sport, science, politics, health, business and more.
The Maynooth native was chosen in the artist category, alongside names like Emma Corrin, Maya Hawke and Bella Ramsey.
Fellow Irish Actor Colin Farrell wrote a tribute to Mescal on the Time website, stating that the 27-year old’s acting is “indelibly honest”.

"The 1st time I saw Paul perform, what moved me was his ability to stand in silence&take in the world around him so I could experience it through him...It's the sincerity of his every word&gesture that makes me so excited for what he's yet to share..." pic.twitter.com/KvLv78Xj2p— Colin Farrell Updates💚🤍🧡 (@CFarrellUpdates) September 13, 2023
"The first time I saw Paul perform, what moved me was his ability to stand in silence and take in the world around him so I could experience it through him,” wrote Farrell. “I was riveted, and it has been the same in every performance since."
Paul Mescal was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Aftersun. He is set to appear in cinemas soon with All Of Us Strangers, alongside Andrew Scott and Foe with Saoirse Ronan.
He will also feature in the upcoming Gladiator film, a sequel to the 2000 classic starring Russell Crowe.
Elsewhere, some musicians to feature on Time’s list include Kali Uchis, Noah Kahan, Ice Spice and singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini.
