First Look: Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott star in queer fantasy drama All of Us Strangers
A first look of the film shows Mescal and Scott cuddling up, with the film now officially given a pre-Christmas release date.
The first look at new film All of Us Strangers, starring Irish actors Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal has been released. The film, written and directed by Andrew Haigh, is now slated for a December 22 release date.
Based on the 1987 novel Strangers by author Taichi Yamada, the film has been billed as a fantasy drama and is said to explore queer themes. The first look image confirms this, showing Scott and Mescal cuddling up in a crowded club.

Mescal and Scott are not the only acclaimed actors featured in the film: also starring are Claire Foy (The Crown, Women Talking) and Jamie Bell (Rocketman, Billy Elliot) as Scott's parents.
The official synopsis for the film reads: "One night in his empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Scott) has a chance encounter with his neighbor Harry (Mescal) that punctures the rhythms of his everyday life. As Adam and Harry get closer, Adam is pulled back to his childhood home where it appears his long-dead parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) are both living and look the same age as the day they died 30 years before."
Maynooth-born Paul Mescal has quickly become one of the biggest actors in the world, receiving massive acclaim for his performance in Sally Rooney's Normal People (2020). Now fresh off an Oscar nomination for his performance as a troubled father in Aftersun (2022), the actor is also set to play the lead role in Ridley Scott's Gladiator sequel.
Scott has also seen massive success, both on screen and stage. He received various nominations for both his role as the priest in Fleabag and his role in Black Mirror. Raised in Dublin, Scott identifies as gay, and has proudly starred in various queer-themed films throughout his career, including the 2014 movie Pride.
All of Us Strangers is set to release in theaters on December 22, 2023.
