BBC NI to air Borders documentary featuring Elma Orkestra
Borders will air on BBC 2 Northern Ireland tonight.
On Thursday, 27th February at 10pm, BBC Arts NI will air Borders, a new documentary film following the global journey of two of Northern Ireland's most innovative solo artists.
Ryan Vail and Eoin O'Callaghan of Elma Orkestra came together to produce the travelogue, which explores their instrumental soundtrack album as an artistic response to Brexit, which is happening right on their doorstep (they live close to the border area of Donegal and Derry).
The film follows Ryan and Eoin as they bring their live show to Zapopan (Mexico) and Berlin the week the UK leaves the European Union. The film will also feature contributions from Moya Brennan and poet Stephen James Smith.
“It has reached people’s hearts, it has connected with people, and gone to a global kind of reach and we never thought it was going to be that," says Eoin of the project.
