Minister for Culture announces funding for over 100 international tours by Irish musicians

Over 100 international tours will receive government funding as part of Culture Ireland Regular Grants Programme.

Announced on Monday by Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan TD, over €1.4 million will be provided to promote over 187 Irish arts projects across 41 countries.

Musicians set to benefit from the grant include Bricknasty, Curtisy, The Fureys, Kíla, Mhaol, The Murder Capital, Pillow Queens and YARD.

The funding also covers a range of other disciplines, including circus, dance, film, literature, theatre and visual arts.

“Culture Ireland is central to supporting and promoting Irish arts internationally," said Minister O'Donovan.

"The increased demand for funding from Culture Ireland reflects the deep interest people around the world have in Ireland’s creative potential. I am delighted to announce that I am allocating over €1.4 million in funding to Culture Ireland to ensure that Irish artists continue to showcase their work around the world."
