Louise Nealon announces second novel Everything That Is Beautiful
Following her critically acclaimed debut, Snowflake, Nealon returns with a story that explores strained family ties and complex interpersonal relationships
Kildare writer Louise Nealon has announced her second novel, Everything That Is Beautiful, will arrive on April 2, 2026, via Manilla Press.
It follows her highly successful 2021 debut, Snowflake, which earned her the title of Sunday Independent Newcomer of the Year.
The coming-of-age story chronicles the life of a young woman navigating her new surroundings at Dublin's Trinity College and was selected as the novel for the One Dublin One Book initiative in 2024.
Led by the Dublin City Council, the annual project aims to encourage everyone in Dublin to collectively read a book during the month of April.
Nealon shared the news of her forthcoming novel via Instagram this morning, including a sneak peek of the story.

Speaking to Hot Press in 2021, the now 34-year-old shared the inspiration behind her work: "My writing is autobiographical, in the sense that the feelings I had in my twenties are all in there—but I'm not necessarily in there."
"You start writing as an 'I.'. But that 'I' turns into someone different. To be honest, reality gets in the way of it. You're like, 'Oh, it didn't actually happen this way...' But then you can say, "It's fiction—so you can write it whatever way you want!" she added.
Centred around Niamh Ryan and her connection to the Foley family, Nealon's second novel is told from the perspectives of three women and explores strained family ties and complex interpersonal relationships.
It is described as "an unforgettable story of love and family, heartbreak and hope—and who we might become after we pick up the pieces."
The cover for Everything That Is Beautiful will be revealed at a later time.
