Longtime co-comspirator, now anthologist: Andy Darlington goes under the featured Writer magnifying glass
Occasional Hot Press scribe and all round man of letters Andy Darlington has just published a collection of music-related interviews in book form. I Was Elvis Presley’s Bastard Love Child, on the Critical Vision imprint of Headpress books, contains interviews with such stellar artists as The Stone Roses, Peter Green, Robert Plant, The Fall and many more.
What makes Andy’s writing sparkle is the obvious love he has for music of all types, coupled with an encyclopaedic knowledge and a fluid writing style. No surprise then that as well as writing for Hot Press for over 20 years his work has also appeared in The Edge, Zig Zag, Jamming, Knave and Rock ‘n’ Reel, and he’s also previously published a biography of Martin Fry.
