Actors, industry executives, and musicians gathered at the annual event to celebrate the Irish contributions to film, television, and music. The 20th Oscar Wilde Awards, hosted by the US-Ireland Alliance, honoured the likes of Domhnall Gleeson, Maura Tierney, and Lee Cronin.
Emceed by comedian Matt Walsh, the event saw former honoree J.J. Abrams, alongside Monica Horan Rosenthal, and Jason Blum present awards to the 2026 honorees.
While she wasn't in attendance, Jessie Buckley gathered a round of cheers and applause when her name came up as a frontrunner for the Oscars' first Irish Best Actress winner.
Other Irish Oscar nominees in attendance were Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe (Best Picture: Bugonia); Richie Baneham (visual effects: Avatar); John Kelly and Andrew Freedman (Retirement Plan: Best short); and Russel Bowen (visual effects: The Lost Bus).
Supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen, the Oscar Wilde Awards preceded the 98th Academy Awards, screened last night, March 15. The Oscars saw wins for Jessie Buckley and Richard Baneham.
