Dave Fanning to present best of Irish music in 'Fanning at Whelan's' series
Part one will feature performances from the best in Irish music, including Soda Blonde, Alex Gough, and Sorcha Richardson.
Dave Fanning will take to the Whelan's stage to showcase the best of Irish music talent in a two part series from Whelan's.
Part 1 will air on Virgin Media Two tonight (December 17) at 10pm, and will feature live performances by The Academic, Somebody’s Child, Villagers, Andrea Corr, Soda Blonde, Alex Gough, Sorcha Richardson, Mick Flannery and Isaac Butler, plus a special interview with Domhnall Gleeson.
Speaking about the upcoming show, Fanning said: “I am thrilled to be involved in such an exciting project. Music in Ireland is part of our cultural DNA and is of huge economic importance. The music and entertainment industry are a vital part of what makes this country unique and attractive.
“Not only that, but the Irish artists who are so important to the country’s health and wellbeing, should be encouraged, supported and celebrated at every opportunity, especially at a time when it is more important than ever that we support Irish talent."
Part one will be repeated on Saturday (December 19) at 10:45pm on Virgin Media One, and Part Two will air Saturday, December 26 at 11.05pm on Virgin Media Two, with a repeat on the 27th of December on Virgin Media One at 11.35pm.
