In a suspense filled finale to the first Eurovision Semi-Final, Ryan O'Shaugnessy was the last final qualifier to be announced.

The presenters kept him waiting but the relief was obvious when the news came through in Lisbon that the Skerries man had made it through to Saturday's Grand Prix.

It will be interesting to see if he can convert this initial success into some 'douze points' when it counts!
