Daithí, Donal Dineen and more for Inis Oírr event
Three-day bash happens next weekend...
Drop Everything have successfully gone the Fundit route to bankroll May 18 to 20’s “free contemporary cultural event” on the smallest of the Aran Islands, Inis Oírr.
Most of the goings-on are taking place in Áras Éanna, the Gaeltacht’s only arts centre, which will be welcoming the diverse likes of New York experimentalists the Soundwalk Collective, fashion designer Sorcha O Raghallaigh, local looper –as in musical technique, not mental state – Daithí, Latvian sound artist Kaspars Groshevs, DJ, filmmaker and performer Donal Dineen and The 17, AKA Bill Drummond of KLF fame who’s recently taken to painting “Imagine Waking Tomorrow & All Music Has Disappeared” on to the side of bridges including the ones spanning the River Foyle and providing drainage for the R238 near Moville, Donegal. He gets extra marks for doing the latter as Gaeilge.
