Battle Of The Paddle at The Workman's Club

The second table tennis qualifier takes place tonight.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 09 May 2012

Generally known as one of the finest places in the capital to catch live music, tonight the Workman's Club is also the spot to be if you fancy yourself a bit of a dab hand at table tennis. With some fine performances in the first heat last night, the qualifiers continue apace this evening, with the BTP Grand Finals taking place on Thursday May 10.

Needless to say, all are welcome and spectators encouraged. Doors open at 7.30pm and participation is free.

Oh, and last year's champ Mark Thomas won't be present to defend his title, meaning that it's all to play for. You might have the daunting task of facing the Workman's own Karl Geraghty (and possibly a Hot Press-er or two) before you get your hands on that trophy, mind.
