Mastodon hoping for Marlay date with Gorham
In an interview in the next issue of Hot Press, Mastodon’s Troy Sanders expresses his hope that the band’s Marlay Park gig will provide the opportunity for a stage union with legendary Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham.
Mastodon support Metallica at Marlay Park on August 1.
As Sanders tells Jackie Hayden in an exclusive Hot Press interview, “We met Scott a couple of months ago in London and he expressed interest in playing with us on stage because he knew we played ‘Emerald’, the Lizzy song. So we’re hoping that idea will pan out, because it would be really something to have Scott join us during our gig in Dublin. That would be one more item we could tick off on our must-do list, yeah?”
Mastodon are big fans of Thin Lizzy too. “Philip Lynott was an outstanding bass player, pure genius”, says Sanders.
Don't miss the exclusive interview with Troy Sanders of Mastodon in the new Hot Press, out thursday, July 30.
