Arlo Guthrie plans 8-date Irish tour
US folk singer Arlo Guthrie comes to Ireland next month with dates in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and more...
Son of legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie, Arlo has built up an impressive musical career in his own right, playing Woodstock in 1969 and releasing dozens of albums from the '60s up to his 2008 release 32¢ Postage Due.
The latter is an album of Woody Guthrie songs recorded by Arlo and friends The Dillards, and is so named because it was planned to coincide with the US Post Office's release of a Woody Guthrie stamp worth 32¢.
Arlo Guthrie plays Cyprus Avenue, Cork (January 17); Whelan's, Dublin (18); Roisin Dubh, Galway (20); Dolans, Limerick (21); Grants Hotel, Roscrea (23); TF Theatre, Castlebar (24); Mc.Grorys, Culdaff (25); The Menagerie, Belfast (26).
