Kenny Rogers and Van Morrison are the headline attractions at Midlands, a two-day country festival taking place on July 29 and 30 in Ballinlough Castle, County Meath.
36 acts will grace three stages in “a natural amphitheatre”, which overlooks two lakes and has room for 15,000 gig-goers.
A joint initiative between Electric Picnic promoter John Reynolds and Darryl Downey’s Raglane Entertainment, the gigs will run daily from 3pm to 11pm and also feature Glen & Debby Campbell, Dwight Yoakam, Nanci Griffith, Albert Lee & Hogan’s Heroes, Hayseed Dixie, Niall Toner, Guy Clark, The Saw Doctors, Hacienda Brothers, Charlie Landsborough, Don McLean, Emmylou Harris, Darden Smith, Ryan Adams and Lambchop.
Reynolds is promising that the “quirky, stylish event” will have the same high standard of facilities as the Picnic, and a supply of local Athboy pigs that will be spit-roasted.
Tickets priced €65 (excluding accommodation) go on sale on February 18.
