Sony sets up shop in digital music market
Sony's "Connect" download service has been launched this week in Ireland
The evolving Irish download market has become even more competitive with Sony this week launching its Connect electronic music service in Ireland.
Already up and running in the UK, France, Germany and Holland, 600,000 independent and major label tracks are being made available, with prices starting at 99¢.
Unlike iTunes and MyCokeMusic, Connect only works with such Sony devices as the Atrac CD Walkman, Hi-MD Walkman and VAIO Pocket Music Player.
“Connect is all about quality and choice in a networked world,” says Sushil Teji, General Manager of Sony Ireland. “It allows consumers to enjoy music in more ways than ever before by offering a truly easy-to-use service with seamless connectivity to secure Sony portable audio devices. Now this experience can be enjoyed by music lovers across Ireland.”
The service is available from www.connect-europe.com
