You heard it here first dept: what follows are the latest additions, as of this very minute, to the Witnness 2002 bill
Having already told you several months ago that Oasis would headline the Sunday night, hotpress.com can now confirm that The Prodigy are the Saturday bill-toppers at Witnness 2002.
Both bands will be plugging their respective albums – Heathen Chemistry which the Gallaghers will be unleashing in July, and Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned which is due in "late 2002".
"There are two main differences on this record," reveals Liam Howlett. "I haven't used my record collection as a source of sounds and samples, and I've tried to bring in other musicians and play a lot of instruments myself."
Then there's Howlett and his bandmates developing into modern day James Joyces.
"The lyrics on the last album didn't have much of a direction," he confesses. "This time the lyrics and the music have more of an equal role. We've come from a dance scene where lyrics aren't very important. We've really tried on this record to make and ask ourselves what we're about."
