Mercury prize nominee the Zoe Rahman Trio will perform at the Riverbank Arts Centre in Newbridge next month
A vibrant and highly individual pianist/composer, Zoe Rahman’s second album, Melting Pot, was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2006.
Her style is deeply rooted in jazz, yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste.
After winning the Perrier Young Jazz Musician of the Year Award in 1999, Rahman set up her own record label in 2000 and released her debut album The Cynic, which led to her 'Rising Star' nomination at the 2001 BBC Jazz Awards.
